Cassidy Phillips is a video system design engineer specializing in high-pressure live production workflows. His operations-centric approach to low-voltage architecture is informed by over a decade of experience in live production and master control for international broadcasts.

Live media systems must satisfy the production requirements of each show while fitting the sustainability and business plans of each client. As a Design Engineer and Solutions Architect, Cassidy has designed over fifty successful on-air media & entertainment systems, many of which are among the most efficient in the industry.

He is currently the elected Governor in the Western Region of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) Board and previously served as the Washington DC Section Manager. 

Since the ratification of the SMPTE ST-2110 standard, he has specialized in SDI, IP, and hybrid video systems using the standard for live events, sports, broadcast media, and distributed campuses.

Before moving into system design, he worked in air-affecting operations roles at KEZI-9 (ABC affiliate), DirecTV (Los Angeles Broadcast Center), and Newscorp (Fox News & Fox Business) for a combined 12 years.

Integral in several successful COTS 2110 IP and hybrid IP router and networking projects, he is an industry expert in IP and hybrid IP workflows for video.
